The applicant should be an author.

The applicant’s book should have been published within the relevant calendar year.

The applicant’s book should be written in a language recognised by the Gujarat Sahitya Academy.

Prizes are awarded to the best books in the respective language published by Cha Sahitya Academy every calendar year.

The scheme is applicable to Gujarat as well as across the country.
