Financial Assistance to Fishermen Affected by Natural Calamities / Accident

One-time financial assistance of ₹50,000/- is provided in case of the death of a fisherman due to natural calamities or accidents.

Financial assistance of ₹100/- per day is provided to fishermen held captive by the Pakistani Authority. The assistance is payable till the release of the fisherman (fishermen detained more than once are not eligible).

The applicant must be a resident of the Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.

The applicant must be a family member or dependent of the deceased or detained fisherman.

The fisherman detained more than once is not eligible for assistance under the scheme.

The applicant should contact the respective District Panchayat/Fisheries Department, UT Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu to avail the benefits under the scheme.
