Free Medical Assistance (Gujarat)

Financial assistance is provided to Scheduled Tribe individuals for medical treatment. The revised rates, effective from April 1, 2024, are as follows:

3 Sickle cell anaemia ₹500/- every month until the pain is gone ₹2,500/- every month until the pain subsides

4 Thalassemia ₹500/- per patient every month until the pain is relieved. ₹2,500/- per patient every month until the pain is relieved.



Mode of Disbursement: The financial assistance will be disbursed through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). For HIV/AIDS patients, the payment will be made by cheque.

Frequency of Disbursement: Monthly until the patient recovers from tuberculosis, cancer, leprosy, AIDS, sickle cell anaemia, and thalassemia. Per case for serious maternity cases and anaemia in women.

Validity: The assistance is provided until the patient recovers from specified diseases.

The applicant should belong to Gujarat.

The applicant should belong to a Scheduled Tribe.

The applicant's family income must be less than or equal to ₹6,00,000/-.

For HIV/AIDS patients, the annual income limit is ₹27,000/- for rural areas and ₹35,000/- for urban areas.

Offline

Step 1: The interested applicant should visit the Office of the Chief District Health Officer, and request the hard copy of the prescribed format of the application form from the staff.

Step 2: In the application form, fill in all the mandatory fields, and attach copies of all the mandatory documents (self-attest, if required).

Step 3: Submit the duly filled and signed application form along with the documents, within the prescribed period (if any), to the Chief District Health Officer.
