Incentive Policy for Setting Up Community Radio Stations - Uttarakhand

Under this scheme:

The maximum grant for setting up new community radio stations will be ₹20 lakh or the actual cost incurred in establishing the radio station, whichever is lower.

New community radio stations will be provided an operational grant of ₹4 lakh per year for three years.

Priority will be given to setting up of community radio centres in areas or locations of the district that are not covered by existing community radio stations, as well as in disaster-prone and remote areas.

The applicant organization must have at least three years of experience in Uttarakhand.

The benefits of this scheme are available only for setting up new community radio centres.

The concerned organization must also possess a valid license from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, for operating a community radio centre.

To receive applications for setting up community radio stations, the State Disaster Management Authority issues advertisements inviting proposals from interested organizations.

50% of the approved amount is released as the first installment, while the remaining 50% is disbursed upon submission of the utilization certificate.

Organizations intending to set up a new community radio station must submit their applications, along with all required documents, to the office of the Secretary, State Disaster Management Authority.

Applications for establishing new community radio stations may be submitted at any time during the financial year.

Documents are required in accordance with the directions of the Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority for availing the benefits under this scheme.
