Under this scheme, the following assistance is provided:

Pasteurized compost is provided at a 50% subsidy on the total cost, up to a maximum of 50 quintals per beneficiary. Similarly, mushroom spawn (seed) is provided at a 50% subsidy on the total cost, up to a maximum of 25 kg per beneficiary. No cash is given; the pasteurized compost and spawn are provided directly by the department.

Seven-day training for mushroom growers is provided (β‚Ή1,050/- per beneficiary), of which β‚Ή700/- is transferred to the beneficiary’s account through DBT, and β‚Ή350/- is used for training materials and related expenses.

Farmers/mushroom growers who produce mushrooms under the scheme can sell their produce in local markets or mandis.

πŸš€ Application Process

Offline

To avail the benefits of this scheme, the applicant must first download the application form/proposal format from the department's website https://shm.uk.gov.in/ or obtain it from the concerned Horticulture Mobile team Centre office. The applicant must then prepare the proposal in the prescribed format.

If there is any difficulty in preparing the proposal, the Horticulture Mobile team Centre personnel will assist. The application requires land documents, Aadhaar card, PAN card, bank account details, expected income from mushroom cultivation, and any previous training certificates. The completed proposal must then be submitted to the office.

If the farmer does not have sufficient funds, they may apply for a loan from the bank. The application form is then sent directly to the Horticulture Mission, where it is evaluated by a committee. Upon approval, the applicant is informed via telephone and receives an acceptance letter from the office of the Director of the Horticulture Mission or the Chief Mushroom Development Officer.

Interested farmers can obtain pasteurized compost and spawn from the relevant district office. This entire process is currently conducted offline. Eligible beneficiaries are allocated up to 50 quintals of compost and 25 kg of spawn on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on budget availability.

For training, an application must be submitted to the Horticulture Mobile team Centre. After receiving the request, the department schedules the training and informs the farmer by phone. The farmer can then attend the training on the scheduled date.
