Organisation of Cultural Programs

After the presentation of cultural programmes by groups/folk singers enlisted with the Culture Department on the occasion of traditional fairs, festivals, celebrations, and national festivals organized within or outside the state, the following honorarium and allowances are payable:

Group Leader: Honorarium of ₹1,000/- and travelling allowance of ₹500/-.

Other Artists: Honorarium of ₹800/- each and travelling allowance of ₹400/- each.

Folk Singers:

Category A: ₹7,500/- as honorarium.

Category B: ₹4,250/- as honorarium.

Travelling allowance: ₹300/- along with ordinary bus fare or second-class rail fare for the journey.

The applicant must be a cultural group or an artist registered with the Department of Culture, Uttarakhand.

Offline

The Directorate of Culture conducts auditions periodically to shortlist cultural groups and artists.

For the selection of a cultural group, the following documents are required: the organization’s registration certificate, a copy of its bylaws, details and number of the group’s artists, and a certificate confirming that the members are natives or permanent residents of Uttarakhand.

At present, the department has a total of 267 cultural groups and 226 solo artists on its list.
