Scheme of Cash Incentive to Medal Winners in International Sports Events and their Coaches

For all international events except the Olympics, Paralympics, Asian Games, Para-Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games, cash incentives will be paid based on the number of participating countries.





Amount of Incentive In a team event In an individual event

Full The number of participating countries shall be at least 12 or the maximum permissible number of participants, whichever is lower. The number of participating countries shall be at least 16 or the maximum permissible number of participants, whichever is lower.

Half The number of participating countries is in the range of 6 to 11. The number of participating countries is in the range of 8 to15.

One-third The number of participating countries shall be between 4 and 5. The number of participating countries shall range from 4 to 7.



Note: No cash incentive shall be given if the number of teams in any event is less than 4.

The cash incentive shall be awarded exclusively for the sports disciplines specified.

Offline

Step 1: The sportsperson must submit the application through the Department of Sports’ designated portal within six months of the event.

Step 2: If all required details are already available, the application submission may be waived.

Step 3: Late applications will not be accepted; no relaxation is allowed for missing the deadline.

Step 4: The achievements of the sportsperson and coaches will be verified by authorised agencies or official databases before approval.
