World Bank-funded Uttarakhand Drinking Water Programme (For Semi-Urban Areas)

Under this scheme, domestic water connections are provided by depositing a nominal connection fee of ₹1.00 and an application fee of ₹25.00.

The World Bank–funded Uttarakhand Drinking Water Supply Programme for Semi-Urban Areas provides benefits to families residing in selected semi-urban regions of the state.

The programme is not applicable in urban areas.

Families residing in the 15 semi-urban areas of the state where the water supply schemes have been constructed by the Uttarakhand Peyjal Nigam can apply for a drinking water connection by obtaining the application form directly from the nearest departmental collection center. Along with the application form, applicants must submit two passport-size photographs and a self-attested photocopy of any one of the following documents: Voter ID card, PAN card, Aadhaar card, ration card with photograph, driving license, bank passbook with photograph, passport, or an ID card issued by a Government or Semi-Government office.

A self-attested photocopy of the map approved by the relevant development authority/local body/Gram Sabha must also be submitted. (The map is required only for applications related to building construction; it is not required for other purposes.)

A non-judicial stamp paper of ₹100/-, sale deed, lease deed, ownership certificate (fard) for the ownership/occupancy of the site where the connection is to be provided, land lease, Voter ID card, building assessment certificate issued by the Municipal Corporation/Municipal Council, tenant agreement, ration card, electricity bill, and a self-attested photocopy of a nationalized certificate must be attached. An approval letter from the departmentally registered plumber through whom the applicant will undertake the work is also required. If the applicant belongs to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe category, or is a destitute person, landless labourer, military widow, or departmental employee, a certificate from the concerned department will be necessary.

After submitting the application, the department verifies the documents and provides the drinking water connection to the applicant within 15 days.

Under the World Bank-funded Uttarakhand Drinking Water Supply Programme for Semi-Urban Areas, there is a provision for providing water connections in seven semi-urban areas where water supply schemes have been constructed by the Uttarakhand Jal Sansthan. Thus, a total of 22 semi-urban areas are covered under this World Bank–funded programme.

Self-attested photocopy of the map approved by the relevant development authority, local body, or Gram Sabha (required only for building construction applications)

Ownership/Occupancy Proof, any of the following (Sale deed, Lease deed, Ownership certificate (fard), Land lease documents)

Other Supporting Documents, self-attested copies of Voter ID card, Building assessment certificate issued by Municipal Corporation/Municipal Council, Tenant agreement, Ration card, Electricity bill, Nationalized certificate)

Special category certificate if applicable (SC/ST/destitute/landless labourer/military widow/departmental employee)

Any other supporting documents as required
